Le Corbusier @ the Barbican

Went to see the Corb show at the Barbican couple of weeks ago - really enjoyed the work, but thought the exhibition design was a little awkward.. The space at the Barbican must be a bit of a nightmare given that it's split-level, but the way they split the work and the rationalisation between floors didn't really work in my opinion.

Also thought that the graphic identity of the show was a bit of a 'safe option' – Corb is like a graphic designers wet dream, there is so much graphical content to his work that the designers should have been spoiled for choice. The 'concrete' solution is tidy and fits the Barbican well, but I just felt there was more there.

Don't let these criticisms dissuade you though - still an incredible volume of beautiful work on show, including nice touches like a scale replica of a kitchen he designed etc etc.

Well worth a trip. I love the Barbican too, especially at night.
